... bedding that it can be difficult to make a choice. Rigid or flexible frame, leather, fabric or velvet upholstery, removable or not, three, four or five seats, so many possibilities for a single choice. Let's discover together the different products in this universe.

The sofa bed is very useful when you want to have extra beds. This modular piece of furniture is now very popular and is available in three different models: clickety-clack, sofa bed and BZ.

Design, compact, comfortable and easy to use, the sofa bed is the convertible par excellence. In the closed position, it can accommodate two to three people on a comfortable seat and has armrests that give it the same characteristics as a fixed sofa. Opened in a few seconds thanks to a pull tab and its "rapido" system, it leaves room for a wide bed with a base and mattress for two adults.

The second model, designed for two or three seated people, is equipped with a compact, practical, light bench seat, but without armrests. Unlike the sofa bed, which has a different seat from the mattress, the clickety-clack has a base frame and a thick rectangle of high density foam or latex, which acts as both seat and mattress. Its ingenious system of tilting parallel to the wall, in other words in its length, makes it very manoeuvrable and allows it to lie parallel to the wall. Its name also comes from the sound produced by the mechanism when opening and closing: two "clicks" for the lying position and one "click" for the sitting position.

The BZ is more compact than the clic-clac thanks to an ingenious three-part bed base system, similar to an "accordion". In contrast to its cousin, which opens parallel to the wall, the BZ has an opening at right angles to the wall, simply by pulling the seat towards you. It is this system that gives it its name: B for Bed and Z for the shape, seen from the side, that it takes when lying down. It is also equipped with a slatted base that allows a comfortable mattress, similar to a sofa bed. However, the big difference between the two models lies in the design of this mattress which, for the sofa bed, is in two parts and therefore leaves a hole between the two, whereas the BZ contains a one-piece mattress and is therefore more comfortable for two people.

The sofa is the centrepiece of your living room and it should be comfortable and adapted to your environment and your needs. There are therefore various sizes and a different number of places between the models in order to find the right piece of furniture.

Intimate and harmonious, the two-seater sofa is perfect for a small living room, an entrance hall or a bedroom as it offers a fluidity of movement in the space thanks to its small size. The three-seater sofa, the most common in our interiors, offers a nice space to rest but, if you are looking for a piece of furniture offering more space, the four and five-seater sofa are made for you. Offering plenty of space to relax with family or friends, its large size is perfect for spending time together. However, you should know that there are models that offer even more seats, thanks to the modularity, as with the manufacturer Roche Bobois and its Mah jong collection elaborated by the designer Hans Hopfer.

If there is a piece of furniture that can satisfy almost all your desires it is the modular sofa. Design and comfort can be summed up in one word: adaptable. Made up of several modules, it can be composed and recomposed according to your desires and your space. So the principle is simple: you only have to choose the number of blocks from among meridian modules, corner modules, modules with backrests, armchairs or footstools to create your piece of furniture. In addition, a wide range of colours and coverings are generally available, giving you the possibility to create your sofa that becomes flexible and unlike any other. On the other hand, the advantage of this furniture is that you can start small and expand it over time.

Usually synonymous with comfort and relaxation, the corner sofa is another practical and user-friendly model. Placed against a wall or not, it offers a large number of seats, usually three, four or five, and can be used to delimit spaces, such as between the living room and dining area. Moreover, before buying it, it is preferable to define its location in order to structure the room and to define where the corner of the sofa will be located: on the right or on the left, or prefer a reversible angle for more freedom.

Always fashionable today, the Chesterfield sofa and its upholstery appeared in England at the end of the 18th century. Loaded with history, for many it represents authenticity, vintage and chic. Therefore, it is not uncommon to see the Classic or Original Chesterfield in our homes. Its leather upholstery, which comes in many colours, gives it charm and elegance. However, other models, just as refined, are available with fabric upholstery that gives it a warm and elegant feel, respecting the two sizes offered: two-seater and three-seater. Its wooden structure, great comfort and sturdiness make this furniture a great classic in our interiors.

In the same line as the Chesterfield, the club sofa is a timeless product of our living room. Chic, comfortable and resistant, there are many models, classic, vintage, retro or modern style. This piece of furniture, traditionally covered with leather, is also available with fabric or velvet upholstery, offering a wide choice of colours. Moreover, this piece of furniture is usually offered in two sizes: two-seater and three-seater.

Now let's discover a product dedicated to relaxation: the relaxation sofa. Spacious, very comfortable and multi-position, it is designed to relieve your legs, kidneys, spine or neck. For this purpose, it is usually provided with a reclining backrest and a leg rest to tend to a reclining position to rest and improve your blood circulation. A tilting and swivelling headrest can also be added but is usually optional. Whether it is manually operated or motorised, this piece of furniture is adapted for optimal comfort and can be chosen according to your preferences: soft, normal or firm. The upholstery also plays a role in the comfort of your seat, which can be in leather or fabric.

The latest model we offer is the terminal sofa. In vogue during the 19th century under Napoleon III, the terminal sofa is a circular piece of furniture very present in showrooms, such as the great gallery of the Louvre in Paris, or in reception rooms. With several seats around a central axis, it is generally located in the middle of a place of passage. Nowadays, it is used as a piece of furniture to rest for a short period of time, like a break to admire a work of art. In the Napoleonic period, it was highly decorated and generally covered with velvet or fabrics with complex patterns. Nowadays, it is more sober and some models are upholstered. Moreover, this type of model is not very standardised, which allows a wide range of possibilities in terms of seating, upholstery and also structure, with a central axis that can be closed or spaced to place the piece of furniture around a column, a pillar or a large plant.

    A thousand-year-old history :

Finding its roots in Ancient Greece with the Klinê (a kind of table bed), this piece of furniture with upholstered arms was a sign of power and comfort that only the great of this world could enjoy, and this until the Louis XIII style (1610 - 1661). Later, the Louis XIV style made this piece of furniture more luxurious, thanks to the marquetry, and its comfort was greatly improved during the Louis XV style. Moreover, the structure was rounded and refined to suit its new favourite place, which the 18th century bourgeoisie and nobility loved: the literary salons.

Subsequently, the Restoration (1815 - 1830) gave the sofa a suppleness and comfort never before equalled, benefiting this piece of furniture, which became increasingly famous and popular. At the beginning of the 20th century, this growing reputation will allow the creation of new forms and its industrialisation. This is how homes began to acquire this slender seat which, during the Art Deco period (1910 - 1930), would escape the codes to become more colourful and geometric, thanks to the advent of design.

The introduction of the living room in France in the 1950s, later reinforced in the 1970s with the democratisation of television, allowed the development of the comfort and design of the sofa. Thus, foam was introduced into the upholstery of the seats and new shapes, colours and coverings made their appearance. This originality, which marks modernism and innovation, will be multiplied in the 21st century by the great names of design, such as Philippe Starck, Eric Berthes or Jean Nouvel.

Nowadays, there is a multitude of shapes, from the straight sofa to the corner sofa, the meridian sofa, the modular sofa or the terminal sofa, allowing you to have the most adequate seating. In addition, where space is at a premium, modular models are designed to meet this demand with the sofa bed, the sofa bed, the sofa sofa bed or the BZ. The upholstery has also diversified, as with leather, fabric, cotton, polyester or velvet, allowing you to personalise this piece of furniture so that it fits perfectly into your decoration.
