L'Invisibile
L'Invisibile was created in 1994 out of the experience of Portarredo Srl, an Italian company founded in the early 80&rsquos that specialises in manufacturing doors and locking systems featuring exclusive designs and materials. L&rsquoInvisibile has evolved from this project. It is the exclusive patented system for doors and locks totally flush-to-wall that enables maximum versatility and personalisation, offering elegant and functional solutions to every furniture idea.

Over the years, the evolution of taste and furniture demands has turned doors into a key feature of interior design.  The objective of hiding and &ldquomasking&rdquo locks and openings in the walls is the fundamental concept of L&rsquoInvisibile philosophy. In fact, L&rsquoInvisibile system is the technological evolution of an old concept: dungeons. Doors that exist in perfect continuity with their setting, and were used throughout history to conceal from view openings whose existence we should not be aware of.

Sebastian Herkner
Sebastian Herkner was born in 1981 in Bad Mergentheim. He studied product design at the HfG Offenbach am Main (Offenbach University of Art and Design), already focusing during his studies on designing objects and furniture merging various cultural contexts, combining new technologies with traditional craftsmanship in order to highlight the multifaceted beauty of the materials and draw renewed attention to small details.

Whilst still a student, Herkner did an internship with Stella McCartney in London, which helped to hone his feeling for materials, colours, structures and textures. Since founding his own design studio in Offenbach am Main in 2006, he has designed products for manufacturers such as ClassiCon, De Vorm, Moroso and nanoo, as well as working on interior design projects and for exhibitions and museums.
