    Astrid Mora

Astrid Mora, of Dutch origin, arrived in Paris on August 4, 1991 for an internship at the Grand Hotel Inter Continental on the Place d'Opéra, and she never left the city. Her dream was to work for the Hotel of Mr. Cesar Ritz "Le Ritz Paris". Eventually Astrid Mora managed to realize this dream after holding other positions in Parisian hotels. Ten years of happiness, but she would then like to change into something new, her other passion is interior decoration and she has one idea in mind: implementing Dutch Interior decoration brands that are little known in France. Four years ago, she launches herself into this insane bet, with great enthusiasm. She visits many independent deco shops and realizes their daily difficulties. These small shops are overwhelmed by the deliveries, the work load of every day, the competition, and the difficulty of positioning of their shops against the major brands and to differentiate themselves. The independent interior decoration shop therefore has it's own position to claim in the world of interior decoration shops. The creation of The Night of Home Decoration has become a must for Astrid Mora. The concept is simple, this national event is for customers and all Deco fan. They are invited to the participating shops, so they can share a friendly moment during a specially organized program for them ! They can meet designers, crafts men/women, attend workshops with interior decorators, tastings, musical animations and all kind of other activities the shop owners think of.

Astrid talked about the project to organizers of Maison&Objet, which started to support her immediately. Shops are located in the different regions of France, and the first edition with thirty shops participating took place in November 2013. Since then the event has grown, supported by many partners. At the end of each edition we award Prices: La Nuit de La Déco Trophy, awarded to the shop by the public that votes via the website www.lanuitdeladeco.com, But also, the Prize Maison&Objet that rewards the shop that organized the most original animation (the jury is composed of decoration professionals) and last but not least and the prize: Cendrine Dominguez, the Event's Ambassador, who chooses the store that has selected their most original "5 Favorite Objects". On the eve of the fourth edition of May 29, 2015, we launched our new website, a true Deco portal, with information on programs and participating shops as well as decoration tips, interviews and highlighting of "5 Favorite Objects" of each store that users can purchase directly from our website. There are shops participating in France and in Belgium and fans of interior decoration have the opportunity to participate and the opportunity to discover these shops distinguished by their difference and their audacity. Save the date, May 29, 2015, at 17:00, the festivities will be launched.
