A flour brush, also called a flour sieve, is a kitchen tool used to sift flour and other dry ingredients such as icing sugar, cocoa powder and baking powder. Sieving aerates and evenly distributes dry particles, eliminating lumps and creating a light, homogeneous texture. The flour brush is usually made of a cylinder or metal sieve with a handle.
