Inspiration and Designs The common thread in my work is the soft amber quality of light and reflection. The original design, combined with a strong functionality and attention to detail, provides individual pieces that exude a purity and timeless elegance. The creation process for each piece begins with designing a form that will serve as a base for the glass and rare hand-forged metals. Each piece moves through multiple studios, with each craftsman adding his specific knowledge, talent and expertise. Illumination and Materials Exclusive limited editions I use a combination of precious materials to achieve the purity and refinement of each piece. Maillechort is combined with glass, to allow a play of light not seen in other metal combinations. Each piece instantly provides an environment with a rich and warm amber glow. Maillechort, an alloy of copper, zinc and nickel, mimics silver perfectly without presenting the disadvantage of oxidation. My success in using it as a primary source in my designs is due to its natural brilliance and warmth of color.
