Claes Gallery

Patric Didier Claes is a specialist in Central African Art. As a curator of the Museum in Kinshasa, his father introduced him at an early age to the culture and traditions of Africa. Patric deepened his knowledge when he made his first solo trips to the Congo in 1989. Over the next ten years, Patric dealt with dealers in Brussels and Paris. He decided to take a new step in 2000 by participating in shows like ?International Tribal & Textile Arts Show? in New-York, ?Foire des Antiquaires?, ?Bruneaf? and ?Grands Antiquaires? in Brussels, the "Salon du Collectionneur" at the Grand Palais and "Kaos" in Paris. In 2007, He was the curator of the exhibition of "Mestach, l'africain". In June 2009, He is the curator of the exhibition of "mythical mask of the Congo". Didier has opened his gallery in 2002 in the Sablon area in Brussels. His goals are to present high quality objects from important collections. His clients include major European & American collectors as well as Institutions. He is a member of the Belgian Chamber of Experts in Art since 2005.
