Aquanatura

Aquanatura, born in September 2002 in northern France, is a small independent French company, specializing in 100% organic and quality organic textiles. The adventure of Aquanatura and Laurent Jeancolas, its founder, is a real stroke of heart, here is its story. The first organic products and their producers, which I discovered with wonder at the end of 2001 at a fair, suggested a new philosophy of life, very different, for a life full of meaning it was possible to live healthy while paying attention to his loved ones and Nature! But how can I put my passion for textiles at the service of this new philosophy of life, and on a French market almost non-existent? how do I do my part with my textile engineering know-how? I then took my responsibilities and invested part of my savings to create, develop and manufacture my very first collection of 100% certified organic organic bath linen, the only real natural, pure, ethical and authentic ingredient that I could make known to as many people as possible at a fair value for money, a project a little crazy I had to discover my textiles on the first organic fairs and fairs that were then taking place in France: Aquanatura had just been born around the world of water: AQUA, while respecting Humans and Nature: NATURA. It was still necessary to find the right producer partner, reliable, because France had begun its deindustrialization and its textile relocations in Asia, the spinning and weavings closed in turn, even in the North I was unable to find a French sponge weaver. A little twist of fate and a visit make me meet a partner bold enough to follow me despite my minimal quantities; one of Turkey's historic factories specializing in long fiber cotton sponge weaving, certified IVN and then GOTS, and not too far from home to minimize the ecological impact of transport, accepted the challenge! I was more attractive to Turkey than India, because it already had a good expertise in this new cotton crop, to share at the time, the 20,000 tons harvested each year with India and South America. After several months of development, I was finally able to propose a serious, respectful and healthy alternative, in the face of coton conventional, full of synthetic pesticides and GMOs, in the face of artificial (lyocell, modal, cupro and other bamboo viscose) obtained by dissolution in chemical baths, and with regard to compbracual, from petrochemicals (polyester, polyamide, acrylic, elasthanne) made with non-renewable, polluting, low-recyclable raw materials, releasing micro plastics in rivers and oceans during household washes, and causing static electricity, sometimes even allergies! Today, the world crop of organic cotton after growing to more than 200,000 tonnes harvested once a year from September to October, has fallen to 180,000 tons annually, and Aquanatura has expanded its collections by offering relaxing clothes and bed linen, without waiting for the fashion of the "made in France" , since as early as 2007 I launched without noise my manufacture 100% French bed linen. Excepted organic cotton yarn, all the weaving, dyeing and tailoring operations were and are still carried out here in France it seemed so sensible to reconcile a local production with local consumption! The future of the small Aquanatura team will be the one its customers want to do with it We remain humble, responsible, professional, and faithful to this philosophy of life discovered 18 years ago, respectful of workers men and women, and nature.
