Philippe Coudray qualified at the Ecole Boulle, Paris, and is fully integrated into the traditional French heritage of upholsterers and decorators, thus perpetuating both the skills of this inheritance together with an approach towards modern creations though his partnerships with designers and stylists. It is this reputation of combining standards of quality and creativity, together with a pronounced eclectic taste which has enabled Philippe Coudray to entice a knowledgeable clientele in the luxury hotel business and prestigious, highly selective contracts, including private clients in France and overseas. Philippe Coudray has entered into several partnerships with prestigious names who share with him a common culture of quality in art and crafts, such as the textile house Watts of Westminster and Berlonzi, the leather manufacturer. The exclusive collections of contemporary chairs enhanced with plastic artwork, are the fruit of his partnerships with designers: the collection created with Maurice Renoma, fashion designer with his own chic and unusual photographic universe: collections created with Jaye & Nilko, and Shaka & Nosbé, painters and graffiti artists at the meeting point of urban culture and street art. Philippe Coudray has also produced a range of Art Déco inspired seating, with the signature of Michel Jouannet and Nicolas Aubagnac, both interior design architects (the Delos and Atlas collections). In 2010, office furniture received a welcome breath of fresh air with the arrival of Philippe Coudray Workshop's collection ?Home Office'. This collection comprises the ?Zéro' desk (designed by Karim Rashid, produced by Della Rovere), plus a range of seats manufactured by Ares Line. With these new items, which are infinitely modular, Philippe Coudray's ?Home Office' range has introduced an innovative vision of office life, both offbeat and luxurious.
