THOMAS BASTIDE: Designer by evidence his history Thomas Bastide was born in 1954 in Biarritz, a famous writer and musician father and a mother artist painter and stylist recognized Swedish. His family circle as well as the hazards of destiny have put it very young in contact with the know-how of the Scandinavian master glassmakers. Naturally he headed to the school superior of Arts graphics of Paris Penninghen, then the school national Supérieure des Arts appliqués and the trades of Arts of Paris industrial aesthetic section. After joining the design team in the Agency of Raymond Loewy, the father of the design industry, he began in 1981 collaboration with Baccarat that endures even today. Discovering the complexities and mysteries of the Crystal to the glassmakers of the factory, he draws for the prestigious House over 1200 designs: many collections of vases, glasses, sculptures and even jewelry... His collaborations his talent recognized in France, and the USA until the Japan, leads him to put creativity at the service of other prestigious companies such as e Cristo, Ercuis, Hennessy, Puiforcat... and more recently Kostka, Bleu Nature, Lagostina and Claude Dozorme... '' I grew up in Paris in a Swedish environment, objects and furniture Napoléon III on one side and Scandinavian years 50 of the other coolers Gustavian style.
