Sylvette Amy Santons

The workshop of Art society is located in Aubagne en Provence between Marseille (20 km) and Toulon (50 km). It is in this showplace of Provencal culture that Raymond and Sylvette Amy have developed over the years their different collections of santons. While Raymond model and sculpts the rustic clay for him the shape of a body or the delicate expression of a face, Sylvette cut, size, sews a farandole of tissue and creates rows in Provençal costumes that go dressed santons. The heads of subjects are those of characters who actually existed or issues of the inspiration of the artist. Costumes represent the 19th century Provencal fashion.
