Before the birth of Artepy, François and Marie-Noëlle Plassard, the founding couple, already had the passion of the tradition, know-how and creativity. This passion was expressed in their activity of spinning and dyeing of wool intended for designers of rugs and carpets at the time. After the closure of their factory, François and Marie - Noëlle Plassard decide to invest in distribution of carpet and luxury liners and create their brand: Artepy, the art of the carpet. In 1994, the founders have a crush for a little-known material: the BOLON. This material with vinyl, woven in warp and weft, rotproof, presents a rare technicality. But its use is little defined (boat, balcony, sauna..). The complementarity of the couple - François for the technicality and Marie-Noëlle for creativity and marketing - will find the real destination of the product.
