Famous for our trusted name, tradition and quality we have used our knowledge to develop a unique range of bed linen and accessories for your home. Christy has been established since 1850, when Henry Christy visited the Palace of the Sultan in Constantinople. He bought back with him a sample of a hand made, loop pile fabric which was new to the western world. His brother, Richard Christy analysed how to mechanically reproduce the loop pile, and patented a machine to produce terry towelling on a large scale. The first Christy towels were shown in the Great Exhibition of 1851 at Crystal Palace, where a set was presented to Queen Victoria. She liked them so much she immediately ordered more.

The 'Royal Turkish Towels' had arrived. Since then the Christy name has been synonymous with quality and luxury. Christy uses only the very finest natural fibres to create beautiful towels and bed linen. Traditionally cotton is used to make towels, however other natural fibres are now also being used. As towel brand leader in the UK, Christy strives to be innovative and are proud to have been the first manufacturer in the UK to introduce other natural fibres such as silk, micro modal and blends of these fibres. The bed linen collection boasts high thread counts, intricate embroidery and beautifully woven designs in a combination of classic and contemporary styling to suit any bedroom. Available from major department stores and good linen shops across the UK, Christy products are also exported through our subsidiaries in Germany and the USA, where we are a major supplier to Bloomingdales. This international reputation for creating beautiful towels and bed linen ensures that we are regularly featured in consumer magazines within bathroom makeovers, gift idea lists and fashion spreads.
