Tomas Kral

Tomas Kral was born in 1979 in Slovakia. He lives and works in Lausanne, Switzerland. He graduated from the Cantonal School of Art in Lausanne / ECAL. He has a bachelor's degree in industrial design, a master's degree in product design and his MAS a degree in luxury design. Tomas Kral created his studio in 2008 in Lausanne and in 2010 taught industrial design at ECAL. He is passionate about materials (cork, glass and ceramics) and processes. Se creations always have a touch of poetry or humour and it brings to everyday objects innovation, simplicity and intelligence. He creates for international companies / Praxis (Hong Kong), Safilo (Italy), Nespresso (Switzerland), Christofle (France)... He has exhibited his work in several museums and galleries / The Museum of Design in Zurich, The Mudac of Lausanne, The Aram Gallery (London), Gallery Kreo (Paris), Helmrinderknecht (Berlin)... His work has received several awards and awards / the Leitz Prize for Innovation and Design, the Swiss Federal Prize for Design.
