The Latch Key

Maker Whitney Sharpe, the designer behind latch key, is an artist based in Bayland, Oakland, California. Whitney manufactures each latch key piece by hand in his production studio in Jingletown. Whitney started working with clay in his childhood. She trained in fine arts at the Savannah College of art and design, mainly ceramics, textiles, sculpture and painting. From this multi-media education, Whitney was able to explore traditional and artisanal mediums while converging intention, concept and quality.
