We were great lovers of candles, but the recent information about the pollution from inside our houses led us to wonder about the pollution created by paraffin candles. Paraffin candles are actually very polluting, releasing VOCs and soot that are dangerous to our health and messy. So we looked for an alternative to paraffin. An alternative used for millennia is beeswax, but there are also recently new ranges of vegetable waxes, pleasant to work and lend themselves well to aromatherapy thanks to their low melting point. For our ranges, we have therefore opted for soy wax and rapeseed, without GMO or pesticides, rather than for the Stearin (palm wax) which is increasingly used. Although the palm oil from which the stearin is derived is sometimes organic, large areas of Indonesia have been deforested to make way for palm plantations and we did not want to participate in this ecological catastrophe.
