Sanna Völker

Sanna Völker was born in Sweden, lives and works in Spain in Barcelona. His two countries and two cultures influence his creative work. This work can be defined as a search for balance between the raw material and the refinement of the object created. Its style oscillates between harmony, rustucity and intrigue. These creations often refer to architecture and Brutalism popular modern movement between the years 1950 and 1970 which is characterized by buildings with imposing dimensions that emphasize a verticality and uses the harshness of concrete. This reference is found in the realization of its furniture and its objects with pure forms. Sanna Völker uses natural materials and its parts consist of purified geometric shapes which makes them timeless. She enjoys sharing her time between her work as a designer and the teaching that she transmits to FDI/Istituto Europeo di design in Barcelona.
