Atelier Crestani

Simone Crestani, a young Italian designer, defines himself as a craftsman before being an artist. He grew up near Venice and his apprenticeship was with the expert glassmaker Massimo Lunardon. Working with glass is a very complex technique that requires years of study and extreme devotion. Glass working has very delicate rules. It is necessary to control the high melting temperatures, to slow down the risk of breakage, to continually seek the limits to be exceeded while keeping the balance of the glass. The limits are imposed by the technique. Simone Crestani is inspired by nature to give forms to his creations. These are natural examples that oscillate between balance and elegance, sometimes imperfect but always marvellous.
