Benoit Viaene

Benoit Viaene, an architect lives and works in Ghent, Belgium. He graduated from the Henry Van de Velde Institute in Antwerp. For more than fifteen years, he has been building residential houses and orchestrating interiors. His style is a subtle blend of contemporary and historical elements, with traditional construction techniques and materials. The architecture for Benoit Viaene is an interaction between structure, interior design and landscaping. Since his studio in Ghent, Benoit Viaene has another passion, working on the material. He creates pieces of furniture with organic lines, they complement his architectural projects and they are custom made. With his hands, he works wood /sipo, poplar, douglas or fraké, gets patinas playing with fire. Stone is also a magical material to which the creator likes to give relief.
