Amélie Barnathan

Amélie Barnathan is a French artist/cartoonist and illustrator based in London. Influenced in her childhood by her grandmother artist-engraver, she studied illustration and graphic design at the London College of Communication, after a preparatory year spent at the Ateliers de Sèvres in Paris. She also trained at the Royal College of Art. His work and drawings possess a narrative power, full of fantasy. His universe is vegetal and dreamlike built on historical and contemporary references. She received the Jerwood Drawing Prize in 2017 for the fresco Unsolemn Rituals. During the confinement she made short animations, poetic interludes on the Arte channel. She received the prize of the Club of Artistic Directors for her floral creations full of malice and beauty made for Arte.
