Luigi Sartori founded in 1882 was the first Italian company to manufacture hand made design carpets in countries where traditional production techniques existed for centuries. Working with local suppliers proved unsuccessful because the market demanded shorter production time and refined workmanship in the execution of these products. To fill these demands, Sartori decided to establish its own manufacturing organization headed by Italian managers.
