SOMPEX 60 years - a family company with a solid basement. Founded in 1948 in Soest, the company Sompex (Soest Import and Export Co., Ltd.) grew quickly and so we moved in 1950 to Düsseldorf, where the company has been increased significantly. As a exclusive distributor of Scandinavian design, the company was also able to grow strong in the following years. The logical step in 1961 was the construction of a separate administration building and warehouse in Meerbusch. After further enlargement in 2002 the company moved back to Düsseldorf-Heerdt, in order to achieve a place in a modern, large-area high-bay warehouse. Since 1970 the company focused the development, manufacturing and marketing of its own, modern Sompex lighting collection for the living area. Parallel SOMPEX designed, produced and distributes products for the household and the living world. In close cooperation with young designers we created the typical SOMPEX look and develop the acceptance within the country and the growing success abroad. The share of exports increased strongly in recent years and opended up the family business new markets.In 2006 by acquiring the licensing rights from the brand Esprit for the esprit home lighting collection the range was complemented. Every year since then we produced in consultation with Esprit a trendy lighting collection. Until now about 160 lamps have been designed, developed and produced. Since early 2011, the smart Nextime clock collection is included in our product portfolio as well. With the launch of the exhibition season in 2012, the company Sompex presented in collaboration with the traditional company Villeroy & Boch there first Villeroy&Boch lamp collection.
