A traditional resting catcher forms a step and can be difficult to access or cause a slip to exit. To improve comfort and safety, very flat receivers are now marketed. They are installed flush with the ground, or even embedded in it, and force the screed to be drilled and use high-flow siphons.

Most of the trays are made of acrylic, light material, or sanitary ceramic, heavier. Bespoke receivers in tiles, marble, stone must be made by a professional.
