To be or not to be? Shakespeare's famous question is the semi-serious inspiration for this table from the 1950s. It has been restored with gold lace - the extreme symbol of vanity - and decorated with skulls and colourful snakes wrapped around the table legs, like the ironic human yearning to climb ever higher. Table from the late 1950s. The glass top - original - has been stripped and redecorated with black and gold lace motifs. The edge, in matte black lacquer, is highlighted by a row of skulls, coloured crystals and original brass decorations. The faceted legs are finished in glossy black lacquer and the brass feet are original. Jewel snakes are wrapped the legs to emphasize their form.
