Artist Biography: Jean-Baptiste Coene was a Belgian painter of merely landscapes. He was the son of renowned history painter Constantin Coene and also the older brother of Jean Coene. He received his artistic education from his father, whom was a teacher at the Academy of Brussels from 1820 until 1841. The characteristics of his oeuvre are the details and accurate representations of his idyllic landscapes. He exhibited numerous times at the Brussels Salons.
