Artist Biography: Fernand Allard L'Olivier was a Belgian Neo-Impressionist painter, lithograph, decorator and illustrator of figures and landscapes. He received his artiestic education at the Academy of Tournai and also in the atelier of his father in Brussels. From 1901 onward, he completed his artistic studies in Paris at the Académie Julian under William Bougereau jr and Joseph Adler. Allard L'Olivier exhibited his works in 1910 at the "Salon des Indépendants" and the exhibition of "les Artistes Français". He obtained the "Prix du Hainaut" in 1912. He received a decoration assignment for the Colonial Exhibition in Antwerp in 1894 and also for the Belgian Congo Palace during the "Exposition Universelle" in Antwerp in 1930. Allard L'Olivier made numerous trips around Europe and Northern Africa. He traveled to Congo in 1928 and 1933, where he eventually died in Yanongé.
