Marc Newson

Marc Newson was born in Sydney, Australia in 1963. He graduated from the University of Sydney in 1986. He had his first exhibition at the age of 23 and presented his riveted aluminium "Lockheed Lounge", which has become one of the most emblematic works of contemporary design. Thirty years later this chair achieved four world auction records. His creations remain highly sought after on the secondary market / Sotheby's and Christie's auctions. He has been living and working in London since 1997, when his company Marc Newson Limited was founded. Marc Newson is described as one of the most influential designers of his generation.
