These terrines are from the archives of the Manufacture des Grès & Poteries. It was in 1413 that the adjective Terrin de "terre" gave way to this wonderful object, the terrine. Pâté recipes date back to the Middle Ages with the use of terrines to cook and serve these dishes at the table. In the 16th century, the most popular pâtés were golden-billed woodcock, capon, chicken and teal. It is because our sandstone fired at very high temperatures is totally vitrified and particularly non-porous, that there is no odour transmission.
